| Personal History | Mia's mother was Korean, a woman her father Andrew had an affair with while he was on deployment in Korea with the Royal Marines. Mia struggled with the apparent shame of her mixed heritage and feeling like an outsider in her homeland. She decided at the age of 14 to run away from home and stay with her father in Scotland. Unfortunately, Andrew was by this point very unwell and passed away just over 18 months after her arrival. Not wishing to return to her native Korea, and having experienced the emergence of latent mutant powers, Mia was encouraged to attend the Avalon Institute to earn a reasonable education and develop new relationships. |
